The hours will vary between 7am-5pm Position Summary: The Mobile Oral Health Clinical Dental Hygienist is responsible for promoting and participating in all activities related to the planning, implementation and evaluation of a preventive, educational and therapeutic mobile oral health program throughout the HHHN service area, as well as the delivery of dental hygiene services in schools and other community settings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: • Conduct patient assessment, prophylaxis, apply sealants, fluoride treatments and other clinical dental hygiene services as necessary, according to the NYS Statute and Regulations, Dental Hygiene Code of Ethics, Policies and Procedures of HHHN and the Mobile Oral Health Services Program • Participate in oral health activities conducted by the organization • Act as a resource and educator to dental hygienists, nurses, school teachers and other professionals, community leaders, parents and children in areas surrounding oral health as part of total health including but not limited to nutrition, tobacco cessation, anticipatory guidance, risk assessment and oral hygiene • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and competence Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions: • Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene, Health Education or Business Management preferred • An Associate in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and three years clinical experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor degree • NYS License in Dental Hygiene required • Current CPR-AED BLS Provider certification required • Minimum of three years clinical experience as a dental hygienist • Must have a valid driver license and be able to travel throughout the Network • Must possess reliable transportation to designated work sites and be willing to flex work schedule as needed (i.e., possible evening/weekend special program events • Must be able to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without day-to-day supervision • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Thorough knowledge of terminology related to Public Health • Knowledge of personal computer and various software packages • Must be able to plan and organize a wide range of functional resources • Must be able to define and develop internal and external relationships • Must be able to coordinate functional activities to achieve the overall mission and goals of the organization • Enthusiastically support the Mission, Vision and Core Values • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned The pay rate for this position is $45.90/hour Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
