Job Summary:
We are seeking a Remote Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient care experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others in a remote healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-ups.
  • Assist in managing patient records and maintaining up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prepare patients for virtual consultations by gathering medical histories, vitals, and other necessary information.
  • Provide remote support for healthcare providers during virtual appointments by ensuring all technology and patient information is ready for the consultation.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive care through phone or video consultations.
  • Assist in managing prescriptions, including sending refills and coordinating with pharmacies as needed.
  • Answer patient inquiries regarding appointments, lab results, and medication instructions.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as medical billing, insurance verifications, and maintaining patient files.
  • Collaborate with other team members and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a remote or telemedicine setting.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong desire to help others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other remote communication tools (Zoom, telehealth platforms, etc.).
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a virtual healthcare or telemedicine environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
