The Data Center Systems Architect will drive innovation, enhance customer engagement, and support key accounts while leading the development of next-generation data center solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of current trends and innovate the market.
  • Identify and build positive relationships with all account decision-makers and influencers who impact current or future business with Eaton.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the client buying process and be able to articulate it effectively.
  • Understand and capture clients' challenges and requirements, resolving them with reference to Eaton's portfolio.
  • Ensure an effective handover to post-order project management, product services, and customer support teams.
  • Maintain oversight of all commercial-related engagements to ensure customer success and satisfaction, as well as Eaton's performance as a vendor.
  • Be highly knowledgeable about the client's business, commercial condition, structure, strategy, operations, and challenges. Articulate this knowledge in terms of opportunity, growth, and risk with respect to Eaton's business.
  • Be highly knowledgeable about Eaton's products, services, general business, structure, strategy, and operations. Articulate this knowledge in terms of value to the client's business.
  • Act as an effective advocate and communicator of the benefits of supporting your assigned accounts within the Eaton organization.
  • Act as an effective advocate and communicator of the benefits of supporting Eaton within the client account organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with other sales and stakeholders at the function, country, region, and global levels. Provide and gain support so others can meet their responsibilities to the account.
  • Provide all internal stakeholders and functional departments with the account-specific guidance and insights required to execute their roles and add value to the client.
  • Build a multi-lane bridge between Eaton and the client organization. This may include R&D, Product Managers, BU Engineers, BDM, Marketing, PMO, Services, Sales Operations & Order Management, Supply Chain, Leadership & Executive Management.
  • Request and support marketing campaigns (ABM) and activities that can grow Eaton's relationship and business with the client.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in data center business; this could be a combination of any or all of the 7 dimensions (gray space, white space, fiber, cooling, power, controls and rack designs).
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
  • Technical knowledge in data centers design and construction, specifically Fiber Optics, Electrical systems, Mechanical Cooling systems, Controls, Liquid cooling (Direct to Chip, 2 phase, and immersion). Practical onsite data center experience is essential.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience with Product Design or Product Management with a working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Specialized Industry Knowledge: Ability to create customized data center physical layer solutions tailored to various data center subsegments, including (but not limited to) Hyperscale, liquid cooling, and the modular edge.
  • DMAIC experience for process improvement and drive for excellence.
  • Highly proficient at technical program management, agile and process improvement.
  • Whitespace design- fiber, cooling, power, controls, and rack designs, with proven ability to write whitepaper and drive innovation.
  • To perform effectively, the individual shall maintain sufficient market and competitor intelligence, understand client and market primary trends and requirements and how competition addresses them and how Eaton uniquely and preferentially meets them.
  • Highly proficient at consultative selling and at communicating Eaton's differentiated value at company, product, and service levels. Additionally, function in a research and development function.
