News PhotojournalistWESH 2 News, the Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in Orlando, is looking for a self-motivated News Photojournalist who is ready to hustle and win the day. We seek a highly skilled individual eager to capture the essence of Central Florida, a region filled with busy theme parks, launches along the Space Coast, and miles of beaches. You must be able to tell compelling stories in your community within a deadline-driven environment through high-quality video and audio elements. Candidates should be tech-savvy and proficient in modern visual media, capable of shooting, editing, and executing live shots for multiple stories. An excellent eye for video and adherence to the highest journalistic standards are essential. You will report to the News Director.ResponsibilitiesShooting and editing VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast and digital platforms using Sony XD Can, Canon lenses, GoPro, iPhone, and Adobe Premiere.Collaborating with the Assignment Desk and Reporters to cover daily stories.Gathering video and still images for digital platforms.Working with reporters and producers to ensure the best content and factual accuracy.Executing the creative vision of producers with vivid video and natural sound.Communicating and coordinating incoming video elements from the field to the Assignment Desk and Editors.Managing catalog systems to record and locate necessary video footage.Producing and publishing content to online platforms.Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays.RequirementsAbility to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Efficient operation of ENG trucks.Drone certification; experience with Sat Truck and Chopper preferred.Ability to work in all weather conditions.Valid driver’s license with a near-perfect driving record; ability to operate large vehicles.Exceptional skills in digital editing tools.Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Self-starter attitude, proactive in tasks.Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.Proficiency with computers and software.Previous newsroom experience preferred.Related military experience will be considered.Diversity StatementAt Hearst Television, we tell stories about people of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and identities.
