Gas Distribution Operations Specialist - Olivet - WEC Energy Group ID-5947

Description

As a Gas System Associate Analyst at WEC Energy Group, you will play a vital role in supporting gas storage asset management strategies across various areas, including compressor station operations and controls, gas dehydration, injection/withdrawal wells, leak and survey activities, corrosion prevention, facility documentation, standards and materials, and code compliance activities.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, as well as experience with gas distribution operations, process control operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations, and/or gas distribution code compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of gas compressors, storage wells, and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.

  • Monitor pipeline pressures and flow rates within guidelines to prevent overpressure and minimize risks.

  • Respond promptly to call outs from Gas Control to address emergencies and critical situations.

  • Initiate appropriate actions in response to alarms and notifications to maintain safety and prevent accidents.

  • Perform CFR 192 required inspections on compressor stations, pipelines, and storage wells to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles to perform duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Complete and maintain all Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements to demonstrate expertise and professionalism.

  • Locate and respond to One call tickets (MISS DIG) to prevent damage to underground infrastructure.

  • Perform lock out/tag out practices per energy control procedures to prevent injuries and accidents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company's requirements for driving.

  • Located within 20 miles of the facility to respond to call outs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree.

  • Class A CDL w/ air brakes (required within 90 days).

  • 2-3 years working on pipelines and/or compressor station.

  • 1-2 years mechanical experience.

  • 1-2 years experience in gas control.

  • 1-2 years of pipeline locating experience.
