Description

WEC Energy Group is seeking a talented Gas Distribution Operations Specialist to join our team in Olivet, Michigan. This role will provide critical support to our gas storage asset management strategies in various areas, including compressor station operations and controls, gas dehydration, injection/withdrawal wells, leak and survey activities, corrosion prevention, facility documentation, standards and materials, and code compliance activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in gas distribution operations, process control operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations, and/or gas distribution code compliance. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support gas storage asset management strategies by providing critical information and analysis on compressor station operations and controls, gas dehydration, injection/withdrawal wells, leak and survey activities, corrosion prevention, facility documentation, standards and materials, and code compliance activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate complex information to stakeholders.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in gas distribution operations, process control operations, mapping/GPS applications, corrosion prevention operations, gas system control operations, and/or gas distribution code compliance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company's requirements for driving.

  • Located within 20 miles of the facility to respond to call outs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree.

  • Class A CDL w/ air brakes (required within 90 days).

  • 2-3 years working on pipelines and/or compressor station.

  • 1-2 years mechanical experience.

  • 1-2 years experience in gas control.

  • 1-2 years of pipeline locating experience.
