Job Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budget Analyst 1 (FIP010; Pay Grade I) (Salary Range $50,000 to $52,500)
Under supervision, develops, prepares, analyzes and/or revises budgets and supporting schedules for assigned organizations or program areas. Performs review and analysis of budget program and policy issues, analyzes financial trends or proposed legislation, and recommends appropriate courses of action to management. Performs expenditure analyses and prepares budget-related financial summaries and recommendations for management review.
Budget Analyst 2 (FIP011; Pay Grade: J) (Salary Range $51,500 to $58,500)
Under general supervision, develops, prepares, analyzes and/or revises budgets and supporting schedules for assigned organizations or program areas. Performs review and analysis of budget program and policy issues, analyzes financial trends or proposed legislation, and recommends appropriate courses of action to management. Performs expenditure analyses and prepares budget-related financial summaries and recommendations for management review. This position has a non-supervisory role.
Budget Analyst 3 (FIP012; Pay Grade: L) (Salary Range $52,500 to $72,000)
Under broad supervision, develops, prepares, analyzes and/or revises large or complex budgets and supporting schedules for assigned organizations or program areas. Performs review and analysis of budget program and policy issues, analyzes financial trends or proposed legislation and recommends appropriate courses of action to management. May serve as lead worker.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other employees.
This is not a remote position.
NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver's license is required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Budget Analyst 1 (FIP010; Pay Grade I)
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related fields ORtwo years of fiscal analysis experience
Budget Analyst 2 (FIP011; Pay Grade: J)
Associate degree in accounting, business/public administration, or finance from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of fiscal analysis job-related experience; or four (4) years of fiscal analysis job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Budget Analyst 1 (FIP010) or equivalent position.
Budget Analyst 3 (FIP012; Pay Grade: L)
Associate degree in accounting, business/public administration, or finance from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of fiscal analysis job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Budget Analyst 2 (FIP011) or equivalent position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants that, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess three or more of the following:
- Two or more years of budget/financial analytical experience (e.g., approving expenditures, preparing budget projections).
- One to two years of experience with Financial Grant Management Systems to include monitoring and reconciling federal grants.
- Knowledge of the State of Georgia's travel policy and experience with approving travel expense reports in the TTE/Concur System.
- Experience with preparing and entering the annual operating budget and budget amendments in the Office of Planning and Budget's Planning and Budget Cloud Services (PBCS) system.
- One to two years of experience with TeamWorks Financials.
- Knowledge of State of Georgia budget development and legislative processes.
