Description

Join our experienced engineering team to deliver new and exciting features for Apple Immersive Video playback and rendering on Apple Vision Pro. Both as a manager and contributor, you will lead a small team and work with new technologies such as RealityKit, AVFoundation, Metal and more. You will participate in planning, designing, leading and developing software for new and cutting edge media playback on Apple Vision Pro and other platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. At least 5 years of professional experience is required
  2. BS Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
  3. At least 2 years of leadership and/or mentorship of software engineers
  4. Proficiency in C/C++ with some experience in Obj-C and Swift
  5. Framework/API design for shipping products
  6. Requirements gathering and scoping for complex features
  7. Understanding of video container formats, streaming and basic codec knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Working on advanced technologies such as spatial computing and AR applications
  2. MS Computer Science
  3. Experience with immersive video formats such as Spherical v2, OMAF or VR180
  4. Understanding of video and audio encoding, delivery and playback
  5. Experience using linear algebra and 3D math
  6. 3D modeling experience is helpful for visualizing problems and solutions
  7. Knowledge of Xcode and software development on Apple platforms

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
